マージンが大きく、 雲母による光沢と空摺が施されたこの版画は摺りも保存状態も頗る良好です。本来なら緊迫した状況であるにもかかわらず、時宗と五郎丸の対照的でありながら落ち着いた表情や、見る角度によって煌めく雨などで、むしろ静けさが際立っており、異様な雰囲気を醸しだしている。このような劇的なシーンの描き方で、芳年の類いまれな才能がとても感じられます。

Soga no Gorô Tokimune being held back by Gosho no Gorômaru, as Gorô bursts into the Shogun Minamoto no Yoritomo's room seeking revenge for his brother's death. Published by Kobayashi Tetsujirô. A very good early impression of this print, in a very good state of preservation, with full margins, and embellished with mica and embossing. When you look at the print from a different angle, the numerous lines and dots representing the rain glisten. Yoshitoshi made this tragic scene atypical indeed. In this action scene, Tokimune and Goromaru have different facial expressions which surprisingly convey calm.

Soga no Gorô Tokimune retenu par Gosho no Gorômaru, alors que Gorô fait irruption dans la chambre du Shogun Minamoto no Yoritomo pour se venger de la mort de son frère. Publiée par Kobayashi Tetsujirô. Très bonne épreuve en très bon état de conservation, avec de pleines marges, et agrémentée de mica et de gaufrages. Lorsque vous regardez l’imprimé sous un angle différent, les nombreuses lignes et points représentant la pluie scintillent. Yoshitoshi a rendu cette scène tragique vraiment atypique : dans cette scène d'action, Tokimune et Goromaru ont des expressions faciales différentes qui reflètent étonnamment le calme.
